Meet Furhana

Furhana comes to MojoTech after working for a variety of companies both large and small. She has worked at a consulting company which employs over 100,000 people worldwide, a startup company that employed 6 people, and a few other places in between. She is passionate about doing great work, solving challenging problems and having fun along the way. She has a degree in electrical engineering and tries to instill her passion for technology in the next generation through her role as a robotics coach/mentor and judge.

Furhana DiBiase

1. Where’d you get educated and/or what jobs led you to your new job at MojoTech?

I studied Electrical Engineering at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. I have worked at a variety of large and small companies including: Accenture, Adobe, Alex and Ani.

2. Before your life at MojoTech, what was the most interesting project you ever worked on?

I helped develop a program to connect the science and math curriculum at the middle school level to the real world.

3. What do you enjoy most/least about being a Product Manager?

I enjoy being involved in the technology discussions and helping customers find the best solution to the problems they are trying to solve.

4. What personal characteristics do you feel are necessary to be a successful PM?

Patience, humor, and a high tolerance for uncertainty.

5. What do you get out of being a PM that you couldn’t get from any other kind of work?

It’s never boring because there is a new, unexpected challenge every day.

6. Describe a time when you confronted a problem that really tested your know-how.

At one of my jobs, I was put in charge of a project one month before launch and I did not know anything about the project, technology or team. Luckily for me, I had a great team of developers who worked hard, came together and pulled off a near miracle!

7. Now that you’re at MojoTech, what are you most excited about?

I am excited to work with a group of smart, professional, collaborative developers.

8. Which professionals do you turn to or what blogs do you read for inspiration?

Agile Alliance.

9. You’ve been banished to a deserted island with—gasp—no wifi, but lots of power outlets. What one piece of technology would you bring?

My e-reader fully loaded with all the books I have on my wishlist...

10. What technology is going to take over the world next?

Robots that can interpret emotion.

11. If you weren’t a PM, what occupation would you choose?

A teacher.

12. What is your idea of happiness?

Couch, ice cream, tv.
